“To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.”
Food & Nourishment:
The goal when eating food should not just be to fill yourself up, but to choose a variety of healthy foods and to have a healthy and balanced diet.
Don’t skip Meals:
When you eat, you should avoid skipping meals, as it can cause the body to lower its metabolism and makes you feel tired or sluggish.
What, When & How much.
Setting a consistent eating schedule can allow you to avoid overeating as well as undereating and will also help you maintain a balanced diet. This is extremely important if you are an adolescent and are still growing.
When you are growing up, you should include food that will give you energy such as bananas, yogurt, almonds, apples, etc., into your diet. You should aim to eat more fruits and vegetables, include the required quantity of protein, follow an eating schedule, and limit your intake of fast food.
Role of Parents:
Parents can also help their children by planning meals for their children, eating with them, and not using unhealthy food as a reward.
Stay Active:
Additionally, exercise and activities are an important part of health. People who exercise have a lower risk of developing long-term chronic diseases and it helps improve their overall health and strength.
These can be basic starting steps to collectively build a good lifestyle for ourselves and the future generation.
